Updates!!

The gathering is doing well, long but pleasant meetings 5 days a week, 2 market days per week, and during the Saturday organic market at Puerto Viejo it is also our connection/beach day.

We are working on building the legal entity, the vision documents, checking chemistry with each other, visiting land and other raw vegan or vegan families, beautiful circle of friends here.

We also enjoy the abundance of coconuts (10cents each), the organic fruits, leafs and other delicious raw foods grown here locally, sapotes are here! And many more of course...

The rent is fairly cheap, internet is OK, slow but OK, Micha made a pool in the creek, and we have worked the past problems with land carers (usage of pesticides for example...), everything is becoming really nice!

People come and go, hopefully we will have a solid team for the upcoming mushroom season!! And of course to eventually buy land this year! The gathering is going on until 19th of April, then it's up to each if us to gather the money and skills needed for our coming back after the wild foods harvest in Canada, May til October.

Keep it fruity!!

Hello dear fruit heads of the world!

Gathering for the creation of the fruitarian community in Costa-Rica!!

Its with pleasure that we invite all the fruit heads of the world to come and either witness or be part of this wonderful event that will occur this winter, from January 21st to April 19th! Or come for however long you want! If your looking for a nice place to spend the winter, surrounded with tropical fruits and fruitarians from all over the world keep reading! Or you can take a look at the progress we've made so far, like gathering all the information you need to know about Costa-Rica, or the people already on board, or the possible land we are interested in... And more, all on our website fruitariancommunity.tk

Also we must talk about after the gathering... Some of us, plan to go to Canada, and go wild mushroom picking!! Pom has been doing this for 11 years, seasonally of course, and guaranty that any rooky can make 200-400$ a day... Very limited space!! Good way to finance the land all together!! The season last 1-3 months, hopefully we should be back to Costa-Rica with enough money for the down payment.

Now here's the index of everything you need to know about the gathering...

Housing and internet
Cost per month and available food
Activities
What to bring
Topics of circles

HOUSING

If you stay less then 2 weeks, 4$ per day,
2 weeks to 1 month is 3$, and if you plan to commit to the community project and come mushroom picking afterwards, you will pay the rent's monthly cost divided by the others whom committed to, so far its been about 1-2$ a day for us...

Bring you tent! We will share a kitchen, which will be a good opportunity to learn about sharing a kitchen among fruitarians... Or good opportunity to show how we behave in communal spaces, after all, one of the main objective of this gathering will be to see each other in many situation! We hope to move to a land that interest us, to learn about it as much as possible about it before the big investment.

INTERNET
Free unlimited high speed internet wherever Minda's phone is... So around us most of the time, ;)

COST PER MONTH

For housing, food, communication, and transport, i say from 250$ to 650$ a month minimum, let us explain... The housing cost you as little as 80-120$ a month, divided by the amount people who are here. Food is quite expensive, so if you want to eat awesome food like sapote or organic mangoes, it might cost you up to 15$ a day, so 450$ a month. BUT!! If you decide to give a little effort, you'll easily find food around that nobody cares about, like coconut, sugar cane, some jackfruit, many varieties of bananas, plantains, coconut palm heart, oranges, and many greens like local spinach, colllards, katouk or cranberry hibiscus, my favorite, etc... If you go this way it could cost you only 5$ a day or 150$ a month, that's what Michaela, Minda and Pom does. Pom has a truck for everyone's groceries, at least for as many people as possible, and for looking at lands, going to the beach etc... So we ask for gaz money, not much, but with other transports like bus's, around 40$ a month. .

ACTIVITIES

Meatings and meatings!! looking for land, visiting permaculture farms, doing training at the house in non-violent communication, permaculture, or this book we really like called Creating life together, real bible to create a community... also we do many circles on personal values towards all sorts of subjects, and lots of fruit shopping/foraging.

WHAT TO BRING

You will be sleeping in the house, but in case it gets cramped, we advise that you bring the following... A tent that is well aired, or a large mosquito net with a tarp over it, or a hammock with a mosquito net incorporated in it, with a tarp over it. Don't worry though there's barely any mosquitoes year round!

Hicking shoes and a pair of sandals. A sleeping bag is not essential, a blanket can be plenty, but some summer sleeping bag can be very compact compared to a blanket... Outer then that you know the essential, tooth brush, cloths, ceramic knife, wooden spoon, etc...

TOPICS OF CIRCLES

We are talking mostly of the vision, just sharing what we think about all community realted topics, like diet, politics, having pets, legal entity, drugs etc... We need to find out what is the core goal of every one, the long term one. Then we need to choose a legal entity, a cooperative probably, that is to buy land under many people's name, to protect each other financially and legally. Its important to understand the necessity of this, we really hope you did or will read Diana Leafe Christian's book Creating life together... In there you will see WHAT we talk about in details, and HOW we talk, like with a facilitator. If you want it free PM Minda or Pom. Also we talk about the different pods of the project, such as a animal shelter, a PRI (permaculture research institute), and especially the school we will create. Lots to talk about!

So we hope we gained your attention. You can simply come as a witness to! enjoying the fruits, the beach and the fruitarian company! No stress!

For more information please don't be shy, contact Pom Vincent or 'Mindaugas Austinskas'. Or find the event on Facebook!
Its with pleasure that we invite all the fruit heads of the world to come and either witness or be part of this wonderful event that will occur this winter, from December 10th to the middle of.... May! And more, all on Pom's website fruitariancommunity.tk

Also we must talk about after the gathering... Most of us, hopefully all, plan to go to Canada, buy a bus, and go wild mushroom picking!! Pom has been doing this for 10 years, seasonally of course, and guaranty that any rooky can make 200 to 500$ a day... Good way to finance the land all together!! The season last 3 months, so we should be back to Costa-Rica with enough money for the down payment.

Now here's the index of everything you need to know about the gathering...

Housing and internet
Cost per month and available food
Activities
What to bring
Topics of circles

HOUSING

If you stay less then 2 weeks, 5$ per day,
2 weeks to 1 month is 4$, and if you plan to commit to the community project and come mushroom picking afterwards, you will pay the rent's monthly cost divided by the others whom committed to, so far its been about 2-3$ a day for us...

Lots of room in the house or balcony! But bring you tent!

INTERNET
Free unlimited high speed internet wherever Nike's phone is... So around us most of the time, ;)

COST PER MONTH

For housing, food, communication, and transport, i say from 250$ to 650$ a month minimum, let us explain... The housing can cost you as little 75$ a month. Food is quite expensive, so if you want to eat awesome food like sapote or organic papaya, it might cost you up to 15$ a day, so 450$ a month. If you go this way it could cost you only 5$ a day or 150$ a month. Pom has a truck for everyone's groceries, at least for as many people as possible, and for looking at lands, going to the beach etc... So we ask for gaz money, not much, but with other transports like bus's, around 40$ a month. .

ACTIVITIES

Surfing!! And also... looking for land, visiting permaculture farms, doing training at the house in non-violent communication, permaculture, or this book we really like called Creating life together, real bible to create a community... also we do many circles, and lots of fruit shopping/foraging can be a good part of our days, but we need to get to know each other as much as possible, so we need to play together!! Any sport like soccer, frisby or even tag is encourage. Any suggestions is welcome, I bet we won't run out of ideas!

Some good hiking shoes, as light as possible, crocs and five fingers might get worned out fast on the gravel roads and long hikes we take to look for land, but will be nice to have for the most part. A sleeping bag is not essential, a blanket can be plenty, but some summer sleeping bag can be very compact compared to a blanket... Outer then that you know the essential, tooth brush, cloths, ceramic knife, wooden spoon, etc...

TOPICS OF CIRCLES

The group is divided into 2, the ones truly interested in becoming a resident of the community, and the ones whom are there simply to witness the event. The fist ones have daily circles to attend to, even home works!! We are talking mostly of the vision, just sharing what we think about all community realted topics, like diet, politics, having pets, legal entity, drugs etc... We need to find out what is the core goal of every one, the long term one. Then we need to choose a legal entity, a cooperative probably, that is to buy land under many people's name, to protect each other financial and legally. This will be the toughest thing to accomplish. Which will take about a month of work. Its important to understand the necessity of this, we really hope you did or will read Diana Leafe Christian's book Creating life together... In there you will see WHAT we talk about in details, and HOW we talk, like with a facilitator. Also we talk about the different branches of the project, such as a animal shelter, a yoga center, a PRI (permaculture research institute), a healing center, etc.. Lots to talk about! The second group can witness the circles whenever, and enjoy the others like we will enjoy you!!

So we hope we gained your attention... And like we said, you can simply come as a witness, enjoying the fruits, the beach and the fruitarian company! No stress!

For more information please don't be shy, you can contact anyone in the group that you will on the pictures for example, Pom Vincent, 'Mindaugas Austinskas', Les Kuzmenko, Ausia Taileen, Jojo Go Flow or call Pom at his Costa-Rican number +5068432-2640.

Blessings!

i (Pom) am the only one that couldn't come to CR this winter, lack of funds... but the craziest thing happened, out of all the fruitarians who came for the project, which is about 8 people, only 1 turned out to have kinda of similar vision as us... Some choose to leave and get rich to possibly come back later (Mathieu), chemistry hasn't been been all that good with some, and others choose the Instincto diet, which is not vegan at all... there is a huge movement of instinctos over there in Puerto-Viejo area, , and they have influenced many fruitarians to start eating meat... following certain natural cravings. My opinion is that they don't understand the importance of eating huge amounts of greens! To us it is very important to have a community that doesn't allow animal suffering, some even talk about having cattle... and some turned out to be not fully raw, they want to be allowed to cook some food in their own houses...

The goal of this winter was to regroup as many fruitarians together and see if the chemistry with one another was good, and see the vision of each other to see what kind of community could be formed. So far there is us, with the fruitarian community project, with our vision stated on our website http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/. Then there might be a instincto eco-village that will be a neighborhood kind of place, not community base, they haven't setup a vision or any structure, but the people and some will is there to be found.

So now our goal is to try the same thing as we did all year last year, to find people to come to CR next winter to do like what we intended this winter, check out the chemistry of each other and the vision of each other, while searching for land, living together, playing and working together. We have a house that we (not me...) are renting, very beautiful, 15 minute walk form the ocean, 650$ per month, or there is other ones too, even way cheaper. But anyway, we have a long ways to go until then, we are thinking of going to fruitaran gatherings, as many as possible. Many people have contacted me already, ready to come to Costa-Rica next winter. Francois is even thinking about spending the next winter in Thailand and represent the project in fruitarian gatherings. Even though he wants the same kind of community as me, he really wants to have the option to cook food on the land because he never succeeded to be 100% raw for more than a few months in a row. So that's a problem, or challenge, but he had been working in the project for over a year and is 100% committed to the fruitarian community project, well, his vision of it anyway, we are till good partners in this project.

I'm in Vancouver, Canada, working in landscaping, trying to connect with other loving fruit lovers in the area...

We are NOT in Costa-Rica!

but in Canada!!

and we are still 100% dedicated to the creation of this raw community in Costa-Rica!!

But don't worry, were coming back soon!

So much have happened, first we left Costa-Rica in May, me (Pom) and Francois, to first Quebec, Canada, for 2 weeks, then we moved to western Canada, where we worked in the wild north, i mean really north! picking Morel mushrooms, the pay was good, but not enough! The very good thing about it is that we have met Renard, or Emmanuel Lavigne, whom became Fruitarian and a very good friend. So the 3 of us then moved to Southern British-Colombia, in the semi-desert of the Okanagan valley, where we started picking cherries. There again, we made new friends!! Mathieu and Mirenda, both from Quebec, like me and Francois. We totally fell in love, especially when Mathieu told me that he was going to Costa-Rica this winter to look for land.... Surprise! After a few weeks of travelling/working together, they both decided to join us is this epic adventure. So now we have a van that we bought together, we have finished cherry picking, Renard left us after 3 months of working/travelling together back to his musician life in Montreal, and me, Francois, Mathieu and Miranda are now going to California for more farm work, after the next contract, ending in about 2-3 months, the 4 of should be joining Randy and Sterenn in Costa-Rica in around November-December.

Ho i forgot to mention about Randy and Sterenn, the couple we met in Costa-Rica, they are still in the project, but they also went back to their countries (Swiss and France) to make more money for the project and other things. We have been corresponding via Skype.

We have been working a lot on the website in the mean time, i advise everyone to re-read all of it, its like brand new! There you will find the latest thoughts on the project, but to be clear, what we are focusing on is to find people ready to invest, who we get along with, and who will fit with our vision for when it will be time to establish the foundation of the community. In other words, we want to find the right people, and when it will be time to buy the land, these people will be the ones that will launch the first guidelines of the community, like about land division, education, sexuality, animals, rules etc... This way we are opening ourselves a lot more to people, which is what we need, nice and ready people are hard to find!!

We see that many people are liking our facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/self.substainable.fruitarian.community and we encourage you to share and like it even more! Let's spread out the word!!

We hope we will hear from any of you, the time of buying land is coming, the first team is the most important, if any of you are considering moving to the wet tropics, to plant fruit trees, to live with like minded people, and who loves simplicity of life, it's really time you seriously consider us!! Many people talk about doing this, but no one does it... But we are doing it right now!! let's get going guys!!

love and unity to all!!

Hello everyone!

we are now on the Caribbean side of Costa-Rica, quite amazing!!

After Rebecca and I left the group to search for a comfortable place
to move the entire group here in the Caribbeans, we found an amazing
group of raw families!! Two of them are raw-vegan, the other one is
Instincto, so not vegan.

The first family is Erek and Alexandra, from Poland, they follow
something very close to the 80-10-10 diet, been this way for about 5-6
years, been looking for land in Costa-Rica for 1 year, and only a few
days ago, they found land!! 2 and a half hectares, just neighboring
the place where the 3 families live. They have a 3 year old daughter,
absolutely amazing little girl. They have many great information on
Costa-Rica, for legal stuff and how to deal with this and that.
Alexandra is a real encyclopedia, very interesting person!!

Then there is Sandra and Yorg, she from Swiss, and he from Germany,
they live in France, but are here to maybe buy land, and create a raw
community. They have 2 kids, one of 4 years old, absolutely cute boy,
and a 17months girl, with the most beautiful smile in the world. He
has been raw for 20 years, and Sandra for about 7 years i think...
They are both very free spirits, travellers, very beautiful energies, I have
been connecting well with them very much. They are going back in France
in 2 months, to make some money and hopefully come back.

Then there is Konstantin and Sonya, both from Germany, She has been
Eating like that for 16 years, and him for around 7. They have 2
babies, one is a girl, 3 years old, very shy and playful, the other is
7 months old, a boy, the chubbiest baby I've ever seen!! They have
been searching for land for 2 years, and they have gathered A
LOT of information. They have been also looking to buy something huge,
like 100 hectares for example, they have the money. Me and Francois
are not to keen to join their project, lack of connection energy wise,
and different values too; they aren't vegan, they eat raw meat. We are
working together right now to find land, we think that if they find
land, we could probably find land next to them, so we could create our
project close to them, or buy land from them, after all, having a raw
neighborhood would be great!

Finally, we have met Randy, 28 years old, fruitarian since 6 years
ago, very healthy, intelligent and especially independent. We are
presently renting a house with him, in Hone Creek,
http://goo.gl/maps/SjXnX . We are about 10 minutes walk from the other
3 families. He is in Costa-Rica to buy land, he is presently looking
with Konstantin and Sonya, but wants to buy land adjacent to them, and
maybe join them in the future.

SO about the place.....

It is amazing!! I have been traveling a lot into places that are
famous to have lots of dreadlocks around, and Ive never seen so many
in one place!! Here there is a huge alternative community, the market
in Puerto Viejo is filled with organic produces, people sell-out most
of the time! Seeing that gave me the desire to do the same. Market
days here are like a great mingle of interesting people coming from
all over the world, its very nice!!

The price of the land is affordable, the only place so far in
Costa-Rica! We are looking at land between 2k and 4k per hectares,
this is really cheap for Costa-Rica.

The climate is also amazing, its low altitude, so you think, no way!
to hot!! well think again, there is a nice cool breeze from the ocean,
and the rain also cools the place down, so its barely every too hot!
I've been here for 2 weeks, and been uncomfortable by the heat for
only 2-3 days. Here it rains at night, usually, making our lives much
easier. There's about 3.400mm of rain per year, so its a lot. Here it
is probably the best place in Costa-Rica to grow fruits!!!!!!! There
is barely any dry season, so perfect for Durian! here the Durian
season can go up to 7 months!!! yes! fruits here really thrives. the
topography is very hilly, with terraces, very easy to find land with
astonishing views. There are creeks almost everywhere, tiny, but good.
It is difficult to find creeks or rivers where we can bath, but we
think of making pools and ponds ourselves. Also, to finish, the
Caribbean side is surrounded with pristine virgin forest, mostly
protected, you can see it on the map.

What else... the crime here so far is kind of high, we heard of people
getting mugged, like Konstentin and Yorg the other day by a guy with a
knife... and other stories too, lots of drugs and alcohol. We are in a
small village, quiet but not so quiet.... So far it doesn't worry me,
Francois either, and the others also.

So as for Michael and Yasmín... Michael will be with us in about 1 or 2
weeks, he is house-sitting with Yasmín near
San Isidro in a lovely house. After Yasmín will go back
to Quepos, on the Pacific side, to do a 40 days
retreat aiming to strengthen in her center and being more fully at service for
the mission... We are doing many Skype conferences, and will continue to do so.

As for plans, Michael will go to France in mid-April for 2 and a half
weeks.. Francois will also leave around that time, to Quebec, to put money
aside for the project. Finally I will beleaving also, a bit later to work in
Northern Alberta or Yukonterritory, don't know yet, depends on where
the most mushrooms will be, because my friend called me up and invited me
to pick wild mushrooms (Morel), Michael might join me also. We seriously
think it will be an amazing season. Randy will also depart, in one month, to make
money in Switzerland,his home country.

Living in Costa-Rica is relatively expensive, that's the reason we are all doing
this. Land, food, materials, everything is expensive!!

Ho and those who wounder about Rebecca, she is renting a house where
the 3 raw families live, she is doing her own thing, taking it one day
at a time, and feels like keeping it local, as in not moving to much.
She isn't part of the circles no more, but watches us carefully, she
will be more of a neighbor, hopefully!

We found some possible land to purchase already, but we need more
people so we can buy the land together, so again, if you are....
-Independent (financially also)
-Mentally strong
-Self-confident
-With great level of emotional maturity
-Someone who get along with each other in a community environment
-Not shy to tell about what they like and what they need
Panama, Ted and George have a vision to far from ours, but we still
hope to work with them in the future, hopefully as close neighbors. Francois and I realized it during the Vipassana meditation retreat that we just finished (really
amazing experience!!), and surprisingly when we finished it, Rebecca
mailed us saying that she felt the same, and decided to get her self
going and left to....NICARAGUA!!! Great surprise!! During our absence
she also understood that she did not have similar vision as Francois
and I, about simply that she wants to have complete freedom over
everything, Francois and I want to have some rules, or guidelines,
like having a 100% raw community.

We have met another group of raw vegans, Micheal and Yasmine, we share
very many similar values, and they are ready to get land now!! which
is great!! but they don't want to be 100% raw as a rule, like
Rebecca. Now we have been doing many circles, brainstorming, Francois,
Micheal, Yasmine and I, and we figured that we should join hands and
find land together, and have 2 different projects on the land. Just like with Rebecca and maybe even Ted and George.

So we are now going to Nicaragua, heard its almost like Bolivia, like
really poor, kind of like Kenya, i like that a lot, so far there are
few more aspects about Nicaragua, we will be discussing that another
time when we know more.

We are starting to scout for land tomorrow!! exiting!!! The more we
are, the more we can buy land at first, and the more hectares we buy,
the cheaper it is per hectare. Also we simply want a big family to

We are actively looking for new members to buy land with, so if you are...
-Independent (financially also)
For François and i we will not come back in a week, for we will first go back to the first farm we went too, Rawtreat, to work until Vipassana!!! yes, finally it almost now, but unfortunately Rebecca wont be with us for this great experience, she did one very recently, and doest feel like doing another so quickly after. So François and I will be separated from the group for a total of 18 days... big break, Rebecca and the others will continue the circles without us though.

So about the meetings....
We are almost done defining the Vision, which is really the first big step in creating a community. Then we need to define the Mission, then the short, medium and long term goals, i hope to be back for most of them! So theres progress, slowly.... Also we found good friendship withGeorge Schwartz Hilbert and Ted Carr, together we really hope to create something together, we will be writing more about ti all when we have more writing down. We seemed to be focusing a lot on things that were not present, but the present was mostly about our relation, day to day. We were having circles almost everyday about our relation, and we took it as a problem to creating this project, now we think that the project is each other, thats really important.

http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-17313110230991402002012-12-17T18:52:00.000-08:002012-12-17T18:52:34.707-08:00permaculture Weve just spent almost 2 weeks in Costa-Rica, at Rawtreat, a very interesting raw-vegan who has been on a very similar path of ours, the creation a of natural fruitarian community. He has been doing so for 12 years, he created 2 fruit forest, without using very much permaculture though, but still he did wounders, like getting some really good seeds like Safu, absolute wounder!! a fruit of his own category, compareble to Durian, but in a totaly diferent way! Ho and he can host many people during the Durian season, heres his blog, http://rawtreat.wordpress.com/rawtreat-english/

Now we are, in panama, its really great so far, the group is doing very well, we have circles almost everyday, and talk about everything, and we make efforts to steighten our team sprit.

Work is good, we learn a lot, the guy running the place has so much information, he has the best library ive ever seen, like really hard to find books, best authors too. He studied them all really good. But the problem is that he is not on the field very much and he eats the S.A.D. diet!!! and its his right arm that does everything, the guy pretty much has all the real knowledge, but he only speaks Spanish!! but fortunately, one guy here is also full of knowledge, and has been here for 2 weeks but might be here for 3 more months, he studied for 2 years permaculture, he knows so much!! he is formening us right now. The farm is really cool too, John, the owner, started 6 years ago, he didn't know anything, so he lost about 2 years, but still, the place is very much permaculture like, just walking around is a big course of its own.

We have also learned from many that permaculture is something that you learn on site, so we are more and more interesting into getting land faster then we first though. Mistakes are the best way to learn, and we already have done some homework, and are learning everyday!!

Not much fruits, Pom eats oranges (tons), and bananas are coming soon, like in a week, then there will be more then a fruitarian tribe could eat... lol. Rebecca and Francois are eating from the market, which is really far from here. Ho and theres cranberry hibiscus!!! the best leafs Pom's ever eatin. outer then that food isnt really great, but enough for some anyway, or it will be soon for shore... the place is also cooler, more easy to work in. love to you all, go vegan, go low fat raw-vegan, go fruitarian!!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-55938396963952503872012-11-28T16:44:00.000-08:002012-11-28T16:44:16.284-08:00we are now in Costa-Rica!! Rebecca, Francois and me, Pom. We are eating the best papayas we ever had, San José stinks a lot though... we are leaving for Panama tomorrow, probably hitchhiking, everything here is very expensive, sometimes more then Montreal!!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-56837685313514456972012-10-14T10:05:00.000-07:002012-10-18T02:53:33.111-07:00new departure!!!

So we have been having lots of fun for the last few months, preparing the project, getting our visions as one, our personalities too. They have got rid of almost all their stuff in the homes. Just to show that they are both committed, which is really what we all need. Theres no plan B, we must succeed!

So as you saw, i changed the title for Bolivian community instead of Kenyan... Yup, i got convinced!! lol, it was farely easy, south America or Africa at the beginning, a year and a half ago with Nic and Tanya, got chosen almost by flicking a coin... After all, there are both very un-developed, far from everything, preserved... We will be changing the website http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/ soon, explaining everything in details of why Bolivia, and what are are our visions. We have decided to go public!!! we are even considering making invitations...

So now theres 3 of us, but we have Baba, our friend from Kenya that said he will be joining us soon, and once we have the land, and a solid core, the community will be more and more open to new comers. but now lets focus on being present, we are flying on the 28th of november, to Costa-Rica, and do the rest of the trip by land, boat and land again, to Bolivia.

I have joined forces with a great woman called Rebecca, and we are re-considering going back to kenya, since there is another drought there, and all my fruit trees have died... And everywhere the is'nt a drought, the land is very costly and populated, so we are considering other countries in western Africa, or Suriname, in south-america. For more information about what is our ideal place, chek out our F.A.Q. section on the website, fruitariancommunity.tk
I'm holding on, civilization is very dificult to live into, im still fruitarian, sometimes eating cooked grains, exercising alot. I just focus on the present to get to my ultimate goal; creating a fruit paradise so i can live as close to nature as possible, in harmony.
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-55922608472164339832012-01-04T02:21:00.001-08:002012-03-20T17:55:47.460-07:00big changealright everyone im gone!!

the garden will keep growing, Peter will continue caring for it. Me im leaving back to canada, we are always out of money, so its time i take the problem at hands. Hopefully it will not tke too long for me to come back.

anyone is welcome to take over the project until i come back, living there is very cheap, especially since the garden is giving more and more, so anyone can come and have a paradisiac life, seriously, its really nice.

im going back to minus 20 celsius!! haaaa!!!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-82416067919413942932011-10-07T09:03:00.000-07:002011-10-07T09:03:58.942-07:00october 7 2011Heres some details and great news about the project, lots of people arre coming, and so many wants to know details, i understand, joining a community is not a small step!

The 1 acre that is sandy-loam, flat, and right next to the river has a great advantage, anything we grow outer than melons will reach the underground water very quickly, so we wont need to water them, like bananas (60), and papayas (about 120). we are intercroping with trees, there is a bunch in the nursary, but not many have germinated, maybe 50-70, wich is still good.

the rest of the land is sandy-clay. Since labor is very cheap, we dug holes of 2 feet wide by 1 foot deep, all over half a acre, and filled the holes with the sandy loam from by the river. They use a weel barrow, 2 guys are bring it up, and there you go! the melons are amazing, ive researched on internet about peoples results, and we are breaking records!! first melons came after only 7 weeks! (galia melons) At that time we did no pruning, we where damaging the leaves a lot, underwatering, and we wouldnt put pestices (now we use garlic). Now we have hired a "water boy", he is learning every day, and his job is especially to never touch the leaves of the melons, otherwise creating stress, therefor the plant has a weak immune system to repell the pests naturaly. We pay him 20 euro per month, and he is very happy, he works 12 hours per day, watched over the monkeys, and waters the fruits, very easy job, ho yhea he is cooking too. His name is Cairo, about 30 years old. So when the rain comes, we will have at least 2 acres dug out, but this time with bigger holes, putting more healthy soil from by the river. When we were digging the holes, it was like now, during the dry season, so the ground it like rock, one worker could make about 10-15 holes per day, but when the soil will be wet, it will be many, many more holes. Then we need to fill them up, tuff job, only one weel barrow, then we must install the dripline irrigation system. One man i have met recently and briefly has told me that he put that system on his land, ant it cost him only 6000kshs, that about 45euro... but the store said it cost 35000ksh... im sending peter soon to visit this man.

So the flat land by the river is also beeing used for a irrigation system, using the water pump, using gasoline... we presently have 60m square, and just about to expend to 130-140 metre square, thats about a quarter acre. with this we are expecting to make about 1000 to 4000kshs 70-33euro) per day, wich is a lot of money, the community right now has been costing about 30-50 000kshs per month (220-350euro) But we will not make that much money for another 2 months at least. One thing is good about it, i mean very good, is that the demand is unlimited, absolutely!! So anything we grow (tomatoes and kale) we sell for shure, we are the only grower for kilometres, many people come with their bicycle from lower regions, and bike up to a very far town, they buy there, then brings everything back down, sometimes 35kms away.

we are building another shelter, pics might come, the last 2 shelters that have built are very simple, its like sleeping outside. The shelters that we can se on the website are very luxury if you ask me...

ho yhea, i must say!!! the 2 girls that we adopted have left! the grand-mother is using them, and she did not undersand that we were taking FULL CHARGE of them, so whatever... i had a meeting yesterday with the man kind of in charge of all the children organization in Tharaka, our aria. He said we will get kids LEGALLY within this month, i hope its true!!

talk about adoption, we got 2 puppies now! i pulled out about 100 worms out of each of them, poor things! we tried feeding them avocatoes, bananas and melons, but they wouldnt eat anything, even after 3 days. So we took 2 goats from peter, one of them has milk, the other for company, to prevent the other from screaming all the time. So they are drinking that milk, and we give them some boiled maze mixed with boiled beans (here they cal that "githeri), its the food of the workers, yes we are now cooking for the workers... the fruit supply is getting worse and worse, the drought is really hiting! it was a big decision, we are doing that to save money also.

So what else... I broke my small toe or fractured... or somewhere around there, cant move any of my toes, my foot is blue... 2 days now. pain is horrible, wich means i still have lots of toxins in my blood, im a bit disapointing! i mean, 23 days of fasting!! come on! lol Ill be ok, im fasting again, dont know for how long, maybe until full recovery?

We are strugling very much to eat, its sooo bad, Zak went back to avocatoes, i stoped after getting so sick from them, i must say i was eating about 6 per day... they are so easy to find! 2 more months before mangoe season, or 6 weeks, then we have 4-5 months to make the melon garden aboundant.

the river is so clear, very low also, wich means the rain has to be around the corner.

the river is so nice...

no news from niya, and her plain ticket was for today... i hope she just wants to suprise us...lol

Its getting hot, summer is there, its getting sweaty at night.

tarzan living is really nice.

what else...

love!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-47600713552303628992011-09-06T10:32:00.000-07:002011-09-06T10:33:16.540-07:00Lots of news here!FINALLY ACCESS TO A COMPUTER!!!

Sorry everyone!! But if you were here you would understand!

So here is the news, there are a lot of updates!!

The shop shut down two months ago due to a lack of donations for about three
days. About fifteen local fruitarians went back to cooked food
immediately. I kept it shut as it was too much trouble and expense to
run.

The locals have stopped joining us for now and I no longer stay in public.
I didn't leave the base camp for more than two months. Instead I
focused deeply on myself and the land.

There remain four locals who are 100% fruitarians for five months now,
or should I say 100% bananas... They are doing great!! One has
joined last week, he's moved in with us and has become the ''foreman''
of the base camp. This is much less pressure for me!

New members are joining, Zack arrived on the 13th of August, he
will have a profile on the ABOUT US section of the website very soon.
Micheal (banana ninja) came for a month and left on the 19th
of August. He did a nine day fast and has received and enjoyed the
teachings of Baba, another new member of the community (see ABOUT US
section of the website).
There is also Peter, his wife and baby. They live next door which is
about 25 minutes walk from us.
Peter is with us most of the time or outside doing things for the community.
Finely for now there is Kimathi, we gave him a full time job, so he
moved with us and was already very interested in
fruitarianism before arriving. He is now fruitarian too. Again, many are coming,
some with plane tickets already bought, some getting rid of all their
belongings to join us, and many many are dreaming about coming. lol.

The garden is growing, we are focusing on honeydew melon, papaya and
bananas. We have planted about 100 fruit trees, mangoes, champedak,
jackfruit, loquats, cherimoya, mullberries, soursop, and another that we
just dont know the name of but its as good as a mango...so mysterious! We
have about one and half acre's planted. There will be many more details
about the garden coming soon, so much to say!! Lets just say for now that we are
presently into getting the video of Goeff Lawton about creating a
fruit forest, the permaculture way. Check out the video if you can!

Regarding famine in East Africa!! Its very nasty here, people are suffering a
lot, so we are doing our best to help as many families as possible.
Right now we have about thirty workers, which is about twenty-five families with
absolutely nothing. Peter knows their suffering and tells them to
come to us for work. We hire four workers per day and pay with 5kg of
maze, which cost
us 250ksh (kenya shiling). This is about 3$. We ask them come back every
couple of days. An example is that if one woman comes and has no
husband, 6 children
and nothing else, we ask her come back every two-three days, or if she has two
children, every four-five days. This way we can help alot of families.
People have now given me
the name of Mutethia, which means the helper!!

More about the famine... You all know how Unicef and other
corporations that are suppose to help the famine people are not the
most trust worthy organisations, the money doesn't always get to the children or
families who need it. So here is the chance to help everyone!! We are
right in the effects of the
famine and mothers are coming every week to give me their babies.
Time to make a little fund raiser request please guys!!
All donations gratefully received, after the small transfer fees and
currency exchange rates, will
go directly to the people who need it most. There is a good
opportunity to help here!!!

For those who wonder about our security do not worry, we are very
respected and all the locals know that we have no technology to steal.
Most of the locals are under the impression that we have no money either!!
I think this is because I was begging for a few coins or working
really hard to make 300ksh per day
for many weeks and with wearing the same dirty clothes for months... I
went to the market on a market day recently and no one came to me for
begging, which is very good!!

We now have a small laptop, we leave it at Peter's home, which is about 25
minutes walk from here, but we are still trying to figure out how to make it
work...It keeps logging off!!

As for our lifestyle, its still very peaceful, we just meditate most
of the day and chat, swim, enjoy the beings living with us like bugs,
monkeys, birds, fish, even elephants! We also got a bunch of baby
chickens to eat the bugs and worms on the melons, and two eight weeks old
puppies should be with us in about two weeks time. We work sometimes,
supervise mostly and teach a bit to those interested. We sungaze alot and I
exercise by swimming laps.
We are mono-dieting on the local mangoes, not the big grafted ones. We
can get other fruits but
we really don't need anything else other than those mangoes, they are so good!

Thinking local and always asking ourselves if we really need it
is a good way to live peacefully. We have many fruits available like
oranges, pineapple, water melons, honey dew melons, two kinds of passion
fruits (one sweet and the other acid), grapes, local apples, many varieties
of bananas, strawberries, avocados and more, but we figure that local
mangoes and local papayas are the best choices, and our bodies really
like mono-dieting. Healing ourselves is our priority and organising
the basecamp is not so much work now that we have Kimathi!!
So now its really all about going back to our inner and higher selves
and Nature!! A life with less stimulation of the senses! This is
something to think about!

As for me, my twenty-three day fast did not go so well, I had no
supervision at all,
no books, no one to talk to, and I really should have eaten only fruits
for many weeks before (I ate cooked food for a while...bleugh). My
next fast is coming shortly, this time much longer I hope. Im sure
the detox will be more smoother, especially emotionally, I
hope so anyway! Zack is starting a fast in the next few days, he is
already detoxing like I've never seen before, its going to be quite something
to witness! lol

What else... Im adopting our first child!! She's in the family of the
owners of the land we live on, Peter's
wife's niece, her mother gave birth to her in a jail and is not coming
back. There is no father around,
the grandmother (mother of Peter's wife) is taking care of her, but its very
difficult for her. The child's name is Kananou, she is 3 years old.
Kananou is not shy with me
like all the other babies are, it really surprised me!!
Im in contact with an orphanage and everything is ok, even if i only
give the baby fruits,
they said we can take care of many children if we wanted, no problem at all!
Even long term! More news about that soon.

So everyone please, i must ask you to read the F.A.Q. section a few
times before writing with questions. I don't like going on the
computer and I'm not planning on going online often.
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-26939045164585698582011-06-10T12:38:00.000-07:002011-06-10T12:38:34.281-07:00Things running smoothly, need donationsThis community I hope will be about learning from our inner and higher self, not from anyone else. The cleaner the food, the cleaner the body, and the cleaner the body, the cleaner the connection to the universe and all of its mystery. I explain that in the faq section of the website.

Everything is running smoothly here. Many people have said they are coming; some have their plane ticket bought already. Right now there are 3 minds at work that are 100% committed, with between 5 to 8 workers per day. The nursery is getting big, the 3rd shelter is being built. Tomorrow we will water 2 acres or so to plant the nitrogen fixing plants to help the soil. And locals keep joining.

What we need right now are donations, so much! The people that will join will only be good at healing themselves, showing the examples to others, and slowly returning to nature. A very peaceful life away from stimulations.

Pics to come!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-34310495588090783972011-05-27T05:54:00.000-07:002011-05-27T05:54:37.220-07:00please read and think about the implications that it has.Damm!! we are broke again!!

we did a few mistakes, such as landing waaaay to much money!! so now the fruitarian shop is threatening to close!! that means 20 fruitarians will have nothing to eat!!

heres a new passage of our new website, fruitariancommunity.tk

To give everyone an idea of how we will use the money...
Lets say we get 2000 euros...
With that i will have maybe all the seeds i need for the 80 acres sreaming to be planted, ill hire 2-3 guys full time for at least 2 months, buy a beter water pump, ill build more shelters to create my fasting retreat, the shop will have more fruits, less bananas and more papaya, and it will be garanty to be running until our gardens give enough fruits.
Don't forget that i'm in Kenya, everything is ver very cheap!!

Now let's say we would get 100 euros...
we would build more water tanks for the local fruitarians that needs it to cover their lands with fruits only. We could run the shop for another 2 month, or we could even open an other shop that is actually on demand. Without forgeting the urgent need for seeds.

lets talk about that fruitarian shop some more, again, here is a extract of our website, in the F.A.Q> section...

Tell me about that shop, how does it run?
That shop is the core of this project. The people are influencing each
other, soooo much! heres how it goes... The shop is at the market
called Saouri, not many people grow fruits there. All the fruits are
at 16 km away, in a market called Kunati. The market days are monday,
wednesday, and friday. So each of those days, i send 3 guys (soon 4,
then 5...) with their bicycles, and two big crates each (will add
photo) to the market, 16km away. Its uphill, so the way back is not so
hard. They each come back with about 80kg of fruits, no joke! I
personnely did it for 3 weeks, and i came to like it very much! So i
get them to get the fruits from Kunati, at very cheap, and contrary to
the other guys whom go there and do the same thing, but re-sells the
fruits at twice the price, i re-sell them at the same price, or
almost. So only then the locals can afford living on a fruit only
diet.

Its big!! really big!! everyone should help with this thing!!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-32342090057563637582011-05-16T03:33:00.000-07:002011-05-16T07:42:16.439-07:00new website is on!!!http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/

thank you Dmitri!! Very good job!!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-49541772401600124212011-05-11T09:43:00.000-07:002011-05-11T09:43:00.990-07:00Pom on may 11th, 2011We are now 16 fruitarians!! 100%!!!

thank you david for help and concern, it was nice to have someone whom understand what kind of place i am from.

Ok, now we seriously need a website, i know its a lot of work, but what is hapening here is just too big!! So please, just a small website, contact me on my e-mail, wearefruitarian@gmail.com.

So what else... ive planted about 5 thousand papaya trees, i have no idea of the percentage that will survive, but im planting (mostly throwing) almost 2000 per week... We are planting totomoko, or soursop (high on fructose!!), watermelon, rockmelon, some mangoe, i will know in a few hours about some loquats, never heard before, i see them everywhere, but i always though they were passion fruits!! those are everywhere, so ill taste and if good ill buy lots to plant, and thanks to david, we will have a lot of jackfruits or maybe jampedak!! Ho yhea, I'm sorry sunshine, but everyone here has been puting pressur on me and i don't really have a joice... im getting banana plants.... lol, i know its not juicy, and its probebly not human food, but they have some pretty good varieties here!! lol. Unfortunetly no one but sunshine's mom has sent us some seeds, so we hope that will change!! come on everyone!! I have 50 acres to plant!!and about 40 more for the local fruitarians!!

The fruitarians are doing great, they have no cravings, as i expected!!! no problem! I told the parents that they don't have to wash their kids everyday, or to brush their teeth, you shouldve seen their faces!! They realize more and more about the impact of it all, and they keep saying that all the people of their church will turn fruitarian. We are already making plans for saving up to buy as much land as possible, in the area i've send people to find the candyland, very recluded and low population, the best in kenya if you ask me!! They have been suffering a lot from the government, they are against i.d. cards, sending kids to school, making money and using technology, so they know that one day they will have to run away and hide, interesting huh?? they are planting all they can plant, and are asking me for seeds all the time. They are convince that in a few months they will be self suficient on fruits!! And Biti, the father of the famiily of 6 kids i mentioned before, has a lot of experience in growing all the kinds of fruits here. And he keeps repeating, we need more seeds!!

The shop is doing ok, it is self running but is expensive, about 20 euro per week is alot, the community's funds are at about 650euro, must make it last, in case we don't receive anymore donations. We should be able to last for another 3-4 month.

The rain season made everything back to green!! yheaaa!!! this is difinetly the most beautifull place in kenya! The rivers are raging, the birds are singning all the time, so many of them, of all colours! And for some strange reasons, don't know wich, we can now see the top of mount kenya from where we live!! i saw the snow!

As for sunshine, nixon and tanya, they are still on the coast, sunshine has always been recovering the best way he can since he recovered from a near death experience 2 and half years ago, fruit diet and fasting has kept him alive, but the process of this adventure has taken a lot from him. Tanya i havent got any news from her, im really curious!! And nixon also. I seriously hope they will come as soon as possible!!

So i repeat, we need someone to create a website!! please!!!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-35143591209908308242011-05-04T04:52:00.000-07:002011-05-04T04:52:39.117-07:00Pom on April 29, 2011where should i start...

14 PEOPLE HAVE BECOME FRUITARIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this includes a family of 6 kids, and another of 1 kid!!

I have open last monday the first fruitarian fruit shop!! a place where people can buy fruits anytime of the day, anytime of the week, of all the variety accesible, totomoko (soursop), papaya (the best i've had in kenya), bananas, kiwano, the guavas might get good, just started, and cherimoyas are coming, all at half the price!! So for about 50ksh (0.50euro)per day one can become fruitarian!! I only have to pay someone to get the fruits, wich i have to do anyway!!

is that enough good news??? i have more!!

i have been making friend with a local here by the name of Biti, he is the one with the 6 kids and a wife. He has been trying to make me understand what kind of impact my message would have on the people of his religion. And now i really understand, listen to this!!

they are against schools, claiming that the industries has made them, and the industries are the devil. They dryfast every couple of weeks for 2-4 days, they sing and pray when they plant, they are against music instruments, they don't take medecine, they are against money, but still use it thinking they have no choice, and complain about it very seriously as if they had no solution (not anymore), and don't go to church, they gather under a very nice tree on top of a hill.

Biti has been repeating to me that all of his community will become fruitarian as soon as they can... thats about a 1000 people... And i now beleive it!! this is a big news everyone!! Big big news!!! there is now 9 of them with us, but many more almost every day are joining!!

So everyone!! time to seriously take this in consideration, we need fruit tree seeds!!!!! tropical, sweet and juicy!! they have started planting their land as soon as i first told them you can live on fruits, and they keep asking me for seeds as if their life depended on it!!

This is the begining of something very big, so any help will be great, like someone to create a real website, showing the pictures of the fruitarian families, the babies beeing born, the lands, the fruits...
PS- i think the blog has been deleted by blogger, i was asking for donations, they might have taken me for a spamer...
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596587356131966630.post-52343892529423704092011-05-04T04:49:00.000-07:002011-05-04T04:49:37.584-07:00Pom on April 21we have peter, a local that is new but 100% commited to the project and fruitarianism, whom will sell some of his property (about 100acres) for around 700/acre, wich is were we are creating the base camp.

But thats not all, for 80euro he will build you a house, all material included, 100% natural, no nails, mud, branchs and grass.
Solar power will cost 800 fully equiped, but if david decides to establish here also (80% shure i think), he will probebly get it install.

We will all be neighbors. Im making my garden, like the others, but we have the rest of the land that peter will let us plant, wich will become the comunity garden. For the locals turning fruitarian that doesnt live with us.

And then we will have the comfort that everyone prefer to have to organize their next step, me and david wants to plant around 200acre, i personely want to go live in it when its ready. Until then its about compremising the best way as possible, teaching, fasting, comunity building, maybe creating a organisation to help the locals like david's project, and more.

The land is where i though would be ideal for creating base camp, bye ura river, south border of meru national park. It took me many month with the help of sunshine and tanya to find that place, you can just trust my judgement for how paradisiac the place is!

Further east the land get dangeresly cheap, like 200-400euro per acre. Wich is where the big project will hapen.

We have the water pump, the seeds (of course we need waaay more) to start with, the workers, even volunteers!

We need kids and elders! Join or help in other way!!! We only have one natural habitat, lets work together to get it back!
http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk/
we are fruitarianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16146252303315093734noreply@blogger.com0
